Rewriting My Heart's Fate novel Chapter 526

"Evelyn, my heart aches for you." Kevin's voice was filled with compassion as he looked at me, sobbing uncontrollably. His eyes carried a deep sense of pity.

"Zach is only five years old and has already endured such bullying. Can you imagine the pain and helplessness he must feel?

"And Ethan, he was left with no choice. He distanced himself from you to protect you both. But can we even begin to comprehend the torment he's been through?

Choking on my tears, I nodded.

Vivian, that wicked woman, didn't even spare a child, all for the sake of revenge against Ethan. But Zach was innocent. He was just a little boy. He was supposed to grow up carefree and loved, not burdened with such cruelty.

The thought of Zach's helpless face when he was bullied tore my heart.

"Ethan, you fool…" I murmured. "You bore all this pain for us. But did you ever think about how we'd survive without you?"

Images of his gentle smile surfaced in my mind. His calm, deep eyes held a tenderness that felt infinite when they looked at me. Those strong, steady hands that used to tug me into his embrace. Being held by him felt like heaven.

Though he wasn't one for grand celebrations, every little act of care spoke volumes of his love. Once, I had been desperate to escape him. His possessiveness was overwhelming and suffocated me.

But these two years without him had shown me just how important he was to my life. Without him, I was adrift—a lone boat caught in the stormy seas with no achor.

"Kevin, is there no way you can give me Ethan's contact information? Even just a phone number? I miss him so much…"

Troubled, Kevin shook his head. "I'm sorry, Evelyn. Ethan made me promise not to tell you. He said it was for your own good."

I took a deep breath and held back my tears.
