Rewriting My Heart's Fate novel Chapter 519

"Take her down! Beat her senseless!" Madison commanded.

The female inmates pounced in a flash, landing blows like a pack of vicious animals.

I fought back desperately, throwing punches and kicks with everything I had. But they had the numbers, and I started to struggle.

"This is what you get, Evelyn!" Madison laughed mockingly, kicking me hard in the stomach. Pain exploded in my gut, and I dropped to my knees.

"No… I'm not going down…" I gritted my teeth, forcing myself to stand again as I spat out a mouthful of blood.

"Damn it, she's coughing up blood again. That's gross," quipped one of the inmates with big eyes, frowning in disgust.

A wave of mocking laughter followed.

A heavily tanned inmate was practically itching to jump in. "Look at her! She's still hanging on. Let's beat her to a pulp today!"

"Yeah, let's keep going until she's too broken to get back up!" a bald, muscular woman chimed in.

"Everyone, get out of my way! I'll deal with this bitch myself!" Madison roared, shoving them aside, and lunged straight at me.

I braced myself to take her punch head-on and struck back in kind. Both of us were bleeding after several exchanges.

"Not bad," Madison said, wiping the blood from the corner of her mouth, a wicked grin spreading across her face. "Guess that's why you had the guts to challenge me. But you're too naive if you think that's enough to take me down. I'm no easy target."

Fuming, I yelled, "Y-You bitch! If you've got the guts, fight me one-on-one, and stop playing these dirty games!"

Right after I spoke, Madison's fist hit my right eye, and everything went black.

I covered my eye, staring at her in disbelief. I was shaking, completely at a loss for words. "Y-You actually..."

"What did you expect? This is a prison, not some playground." Madison sneered.

She kicked me hard in the knee. The pain was unbearable, and I collapsed to the ground.

"No… I can't lose… Zach's still waiting for me…" I tried to push myself up, but my body wouldn't listen.
