Rewriting My Heart's Fate novel Chapter 512

I took a deep breath, looked up, and met Julia's gaze. "I'm up for the DNA test, but there's one thing I need from you first."

"Oh? What's that?" she asked, her eyes narrowing, a smug little smile on her face.

"If the test proves you're wrong, you'll never get involved in my relationship with Ethan again. And you'll owe us a public apology—right in front of the cameras."

The moment I said it, the room fell into whispers. Even Ethan looked shocked.

He grabbed my hand, looking worried. "What are you doing, Evelyn? Don't act rashly!"

I shook my head, my tone firm. "Ethan, is this how you want to live your life—always under someone else's thumb? If we don't stand up and fight this, we'll never get out from under it!"

Ethan hesitated for a moment before finally nodding. "Okay, I'll listen to you."

He turned to Julia, his face hardening. "Mom, I agree to Evelyn's terms. If you refuse, then today's the day we walk away from the Graysons. We'll go our separate ways, and everyone can just move on with their lives."

Julia was so mad she practically stomped her feet, struggling to find the right words for a while before snapping, "Oh, now you think you're tough, huh? How dare you take me on? Fine, let's see what you've got. I'll make sure to put you two ungrateful brats in your place!"

And so, in the hospital, I held Zachary tight while they drew a small vial of his blood. He cried from the pain, and it felt like my heart was breaking.

"It's okay, sweetheart. Just hang on a little longer. I'm right here," I whispered, my eyes reddening as I gently patted his back.

Ethan offered his blood sample, too. His hand tightened around mine, his gaze steady, silently reassuring me.
