Rewriting My Heart's Fate novel Chapter 507

My tears turned into laughter after hearing what Ethan said.

After wiping away my tears, I gazed deeply into his eyes and said, "Honey, I believe you. We will take good care of our little family."

He gave me the softest of smiles and kissed me on my forehead. "Don't worry. I'll do everything I can to give you two a better future."

With that, he bent over to pick Zachary up in his arms, his eyes full of affection as he did so. "Zach, Daddy and Mommy will protect you forever. We won't let anyone hurt you."

After that, Ethan and I went through the procedures for my discharge, and we left the hospital together.

Sitting in the car, I looked out the window at the familiar scenery and took a deep breath.

From this day onward, I was no longer alone. I had people I loved dearly, and I found a reason to keep fighting and pushing forward.

No matter the challenges that would arise, I wouldn't be afraid of them as long as the three of us were together.

Soon, we drove into our neighborhood and stopped right in front of our house. I slowly and carefully got out of the car with Zach in my arms.

Looking up at the mansion that loomed before me, a sense of security welled up in me for no apparent reason.

"Welcome home, darling," said Ethan. He had one hand on the luggage and the other on my shoulder. His face shone with joy and exultation.

A soft smile hung on my lips as I kissed him on the lips.

"I'm back, honey," I said, throwing the doors open. My heart melted at the sight after I opened the door. It warmed my heart.

The living room was meticulously decorated with flowers and balloons, and on one of the walls was a poster that read, "Welcome home, Zach!"

"This is…" I glanced around, stunned.

An awkward smile crept onto Ethan's face. Sheepishly, he said, "A surprise. I prepared it myself. We need to get things ready to celebrate Zach's first month here with us. I'm going to make the celebration a grand one."

Tears pricked my eyes, and I sniffed, thinking that my tears were going to fall. It never crossed my mind that someone as cold and grave as Ethan would have a warm and affectionate side like this.
