Rewriting My Heart's Fate novel Chapter 482

"I saw everything you've done for me, Evelyn. Meeting you was the best thing that ever happened to me," Ethan said. "As for what happened with Vivian, it's all taken care of now… I was wrong, and I swear it won't happen again."

"Ethan..." I could hardly get the words out through my tears. I wrapped my arms around him and held on tight.

At that moment, I realized we'd always held a special place for each other in our hearts.

Just then, the doctor walked in, smiling with relief. "Mr. Grayson waking up is great news. But he's still really weak and needs lots of rest. You'll need to take good care of him during this time, Mrs. Grayson."

I almost told him I wasn't Ethan's wife but his business partner. But instead, I nodded quickly. "I won't leave him, not for a second!"

Ethan's eyes locked with mine, full of affection and warmth. "Guess I'll be counting on you, 'Mrs. Grayson.'"

"Ethan!" I blushed and gave him a lighthearted punch.

Everyone in the room laughed.

A few days later, Ethan was finally released from the hospital. Although he wasn't ready to get back to work, his spirits were much better.

I stayed with him day and night, making sure he had everything he needed. He'd always tease me for being overprotective, but his eyes were full of tenderness.

"Evelyn, I'm not that fragile. You need to get some rest, too," he said.

"Those two jerks would've killed you if it weren't for me, you idiot!" I teased.

Ethan let out a helpless laugh and pulled me into his arms. "Okay, I'll do whatever you say."

As time passed, our relationship grew stronger and more affectionate. All the hurdles and conflicts seemed to fade away with his recovery.

But within days, Rowan was out on bail. Word was his family had some strong connections. Richard was released due to lack of evidence.
