Rewriting My Heart's Fate novel Chapter 469

Just then, Rowan suddenly appeared by my side and extended his hand. "Ms. Wiley, how about we leave this place and grab a drink?"

I looked into his sincere eyes. At that moment, all his schemes seemed insignificant. All I wanted now was to escape everything.

I smiled faintly and placed my hand in his. Not far away, Ethan seemed to sense something. He turned and landed his gaze on me. In that instant, I clearly saw the anger in his eyes.

I silently apologized to him. Perhaps, in this life, this was where we had to part ways.

I turned and let Rowan wrap his arm around my shoulder as we disappeared into the crowd.

The night was dim, and the moonlight was hazy.

Rowan opened the door to the passenger seat for me and gestured for me to enter. I smiled lightly and gracefully got in.

The car quickly started and swiftly drove away from the bustling venue.

Outside the window, the neon lights of the city faded into the distance and were replaced by an endless stretch of darkness that enveloped the road.

Rowan held the steering wheel, glancing at me occasionally. I leaned back in the seat and stared vacantly out the window as the scenery passed by. My thoughts, however, were in turmoil.

I had escaped the place and distanced myself from the man who broke my heart. I should have felt relieved, freed from it all. Yet, at this moment, a deep sense of loss and confusion began to seep into my heart.

It felt as though an invisible hand was gripping my heart, squeezing the air out of me.

"Ms. Wiley, we've arrived." Rowan stopped the car and turned to me with a playful smile. Only then did I realize that the car had entered a quiet estate.

The surroundings lay in silence. Only the moonlight was casting a soft glow over the ground.

"This is… Rovera manor?"
