Felicia's gaze shifted between Stephan and Imogen before finally landing on Scarlet, who was looking at her knowingly.

Scarlet pulled Felicia aside and whispered, "Boss, don't you think this is aimed at you?"

Before Felicia could respond, Imogen's phone started ringing. The call was from an unknown number.

Imogen, still trying to comfort the crying Caleb, was too frazzled to answer. Stephan took the phone from her, swiped to accept the call, and turned on speaker mode.

Immediately, Johanna's voice came through. It was soft and seemingly polite yet dripping with malicious satisfaction.

"It's been a while, hasn't it, everyone?"

Her tone was sweet and condescending, brimming with the kind of glee that came from feeling in control. Then, she said something that made everyone freeze—she mentioned Felicia.

"With Felicia there, you must already know. Caleb has been implanted with a venomous creature. This creature can't be removed. It'll slowly torment him, pushing him into unbearable pain until he eventually succumbs… and dies."

The blatant cruelty in Johanna's words made Imogen want to reach through the phone and pull her out just to beat her senseless.

But given the situation, Imogen could only suppress her fury and force herself to ask, "What do you want?"

A mocking laugh echoed from the other end. There was silence for a few moments before Johanna spoke again, her tone eerily calm and calculated.

"I want you to pay with your life. I want you to take a knife, cut yourself, and trade your life for your son's. Are you willing?"

"Fine!" Imogen agreed without hesitation, her only thought being to save Caleb.

It seemed Johanna had expected this. There was no pause before she responded. It was unclear what she did on her end, but Caleb's cries began to weaken. His sobs turned into hiccups, though his face was still red from the strain. Soon, he drifted off into an exhausted sleep.
