Felicia had never experienced a happy childhood and didn't know what happiness truly meant for a child. But sometimes, in her imagination, she would think about giving all the love she had to her own child one day.
She would do everything in her power to pour all her love into her child. But… now wasn't the time.
She greeted Imogen casually, exchanged a few words, and then walked into the dining hall behind her.
Stephan, meanwhile, was playing with his little nephew. A simple snap of his fingers and a light poke to Caleb's cheek had the little boy laughing uncontrollably. His laughter was crisp and innocent, and his chubby little face made him absolutely adorable.
Imogen stood nearby, watching the scene before them. She was about to say something when Stephan suddenly said, "Imogen, I'm planning to have a wedding."
"Great," Imogen responded without hesitation. She glanced at the dining hall and noted the distance. Felicia wouldn't overhear them from here, so she added, "Have you talked it over with Felicia, or are you planning to surprise her?"
Stephan raised an eyebrow. He had never heard of weddings being surprises before. Naturally, everything would be done according to the bride's preferences.
Imogen sighed softly. "Ah, speaking of weddings, mine… Well, it didn't even make it to the end…"
She hadn't meant to say much, but the words just slipped out. She stopped abruptly, her expression becoming complicated as a bitter feeling rose inside her.
She had once thought she and Archie were deeply in love and were ready to spend their lives together. She had been so sure, so blissfully certain, that she had never doubted him.
But who would've thought that the same man, who sweetly called her "darling" every day, was calling her an old hag behind her back?
She was blind at the time. Archie and Johanna probably took full advantage of her inability to see and openly had their affair right in front of her.
