But to Felicia's surprise, the robed man let out a strange laugh and moved like a ghost. The bullet passed through the corner of his robe and hit the stone on the ground, leaving a hole.
Felicia hadn't expected him to be so fast. As she raised her gun again, the robed man reached for her neck with claw-like fingers.
Seeing this, Scarlet no longer cared about capturing the person alive. She threw her throwing knife at the robed man's back.
Felicia also made her move, raising her hand to block the robed man's attack. At that moment, she didn't dare shoot since Scarlet was right behind him. Shooting recklessly would only harm her teammate.
However, the robed man didn't care about Scarlet. He continued to press forward, his deep and coarse voice filled with greed as he muttered, "You came to me. How nice. Now, I don't have to waste time searching for you. This is great!"
As he spoke, something else appeared in his hand. It was a string of black, bronze bells!
Felicia's expression changed drastically.
In the next moment, the tinkling sound of the bells rang from his hand. The sound drifted through the valley, carried by the wind, reaching far, far away. Felicia couldn't avoid it. The sound burrowed into her ears, drilling deep.
In an instant, a sharp headache tore through her head.
Her soul felt like it was being ripped apart. Her limbs grew stiff, and Felicia, just before losing consciousness, shoved her gun into Scarlet's hands. Scarlet had just leaped in front of her at the right time.
"Run!"
The word was barely squeezed through Felicia's clenched teeth. She wasn't sure what would happen next or if she would turn into a mindless killing machine in the hands of the robed man after completely losing consciousness.
Scarlet grabbed the gun and intended to tie Felicia up, but when she reached behind her, she found the ropes had fallen during the previous scuffle. They were now stepped on by the robed man.
