The group seemed to have noticed the broken door and muddy footprints on the ground. Their movements were incredibly fast. Judging by the sound of their footsteps, there were at least a dozen people.
Jennifer and the others immediately changed their expressions. They looked at Felicia and said, "It's definitely them! They've come! The man in black who kidnapped us said he'd take us to another place today, so the people outside must be his."
"What should we do now?"
The other women huddled together, their eyes filled with fear and anxiety as they looked at Felicia. Two of them even looked at her with pleading expressions. "Please, don't leave us. Please…"
To them, Felicia only knew Jennifer, and it was very likely that she came specifically to rescue Jennifer, with them being just a secondary concern.
Now that danger had arrived, they would only be a burden if there was a confrontation. Burdens were the first to be abandoned.
Felicia glanced at Scarlet and said in a low voice, "Take them inside. There must be another exit inside. Get down the mountain and send them to a safe place. I'll take two people to lead the people outside away."
Scarlet grabbed Felicia. "No! I should go! You take them!"
"You're not familiar with the terrain. I've memorized the map. Don't worry. I'll be fine."
With the footsteps outside getting closer, Felicia pushed Scarlet aside. "There's no time! Go!"
Scarlet gritted her teeth as she led Jennifer and the other women who were able to move in the opposite direction.
The remaining five mercenaries, with Big Guy and another carrying two unconscious women, followed Felicia toward the exit.
Jennifer turned her head several times, opening her mouth with a worried look. But with time running out and everyone just trying to escape, she swallowed her words.
Scarlet, leading the way, held the map Felicia had left her, which outlined the route down the mountain.
