Rebirth of The Vengeful Luna novel Chapter 49

CHARLOTTE...

I walked away from the crowd of the party and went to the washroom, settling for the guests.

I went in and freshened up myself and come out to wash my hands when two she-wolves entered the toilet.

I know them from before. They are Carina's close friends, Sasha and Maria. Like their friend, they even said mean things to me before because of not having a wolf.

Whenever they would see me, they would taunt me. However, tonight, they didn't. This is the very first time it happened.

Right now, they didn't say anything to me and I completely ignored them. As I was ready to go out of the washroom, I heard,

"So, you finally got your wolf, huh?" Sasha spoke and I could hear the disdain in her tone, she is trying to suppress

I don't really understand why this unnecessary hate.

I turned to them with a smile. "Yeah, got my wolf. A little late, but worth it."

"Hmm... We see." Sasha said and turned to her friend, eyeing something to her.

"Well, haven't you been living with the Aloha King Augustus for over two years now?" Maria asked.

"Yeah, we are living together. He is my mate." I replied proudly.

"But, you haven't marked each other yet, do you? You don't smell like him at all." Sasha spoke this time and I could feel the sarcasm in it.

'They are mocking us. These too!' Sierra started to get angry but I hold her back.

Smiling calmly at them, I replied, "Yeah, we didn't mark each other. But soon. He wanted to mark me for a long time ago, but, I stopped him. I have a special plan to do this on his birthday." I lied.

I can not tell them the truth, can I? So, I had to lie!

"Oh..." They replied and my smile brightened.

"So, I will be leaving first." Saying, I left the washroom and huffed taking a deep breath outside.

'That paranoid man! Because of him, those women dared to point fingers at us!' Sierra growled, enraged.

'It's alright, calm down. Augustus started trusting me after lots of hard work and I am hoping to be marked by him soon.'

'Yeah, hope that too.' Sierra said and adjusted on her seat, dropping the topic.

The beats of loud music are splitting the peace and I am not a party person at all. I am a peace lover and somehow, Sierra is like that too.

'Should we take a walk out here, Sierra? Away from the gathering?' I asked my wolf. Not having a mind to attend the party anymore after that depressing encounter with those two she-wolves.

Sierra immediately agreed.

'Of course! This is the best idea! I swear, people inside are way too noisy and I am not in the mood to see that Alice either!'

'Yeah, same here. Then let's have some fresh walk in the backyard.' I proposed and she agreed again.

Maintaining my distance from the vrow, I safely came out to the garden of the mansion. Unlike, the hustle and bustle of the inside crowd, the backyard is surprisingly quiet on this open night.

Honestly, I was expecting people around but it's quiet.

'Don't you think this place is way too quiet?' Sierra asked.

'Well, maybe because no one is a peace lover like us?' I replied, not believing My own words!

'Charlotte, I am sending something wrong here.' She finally said out my fear. 'I think we should leave.'

And I somehow agreed with her words and nodded. 'Yeah, that would be a good idea.'

As I was about to leave, a familiar scent hit my nostrils all of a sudden, freezing me on the spot.

Sierra got alert too as she stood up. I sniffed the scent again and she growled inside, 'MATE!'

Yeah! The scent of dark coffee and smoke filled my nostrils as my whole body woke up enthusiastically. A new sense of fulfilment washed through me.
