No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 226

Noelle struggled free and ran desperately down the hallway. She saw the elevator doors open and rushed inside.

Leaning against the elevator, she gritted her teeth and took out her phone, unsure who to call. While running, she decided to call the police.

"She's over there! Don't let her escape!"

Noelle had been cornered at the end of the hallway. She turned to face the two bodyguards closing in on her. "I've already called the police. They'll be here soon."

"It won't matter. No one can save you."

"Young lady, this is not a place for you. Come here now!"

Noelle stood near the wall, barely able to keep her balance as the bodyguards drew closer. At that moment, the door to a nearby private room opened. Without thinking, she rushed inside and smashed a decorative vase.

"I'll pay for the damage, but I must go to the hospital first!"

She figured that if these bodyguards were so wary of this room, the people inside must be influential. If she broke something, they would demand compensation, buying her some time. She would be safe if she could get out of here.

She had little strength left and was almost collapsing on the floor. She barely had the energy to look up, but she noticed a few men in the room.

"Nelly, is that really you?" Alfred had thought he was hearing things, but when he opened the door, a woman rushed in and smashed the antique vase!

Noelle heard the familiar voice and struggled to look up, meeting Alfred's eyes. Before she could react, someone was in front of her, lifting her from the broken shards of the vase.

Cedric was both angry and concerned. "What happened?"

Upon hearing his voice, Noelle finally smiled. "So it's you guys." She felt relieved, thinking she would be fine now.

The next second, she looked at Cedric with a pitiful expression and complained, "Someone bullied me!"

He noticed the strong smell of alcohol on her and the unnatural redness on her face. He could immediately tell what had happened. His face darkened, and he looked toward the hallway.
