However, Elsie took several steps back.
"Help me? How could you possibly help me? If you really want to help me, then let Mr. Martin support me financially! Stop monopolizing him! Someone as amazing as him shouldn't be revolving around you all the time. If you let Mr. Martin take care of me, all my problems will be solved!"
She shouted these words at Skylar, almost hysterically.
This was what she truly wanted!
If everything she had experienced was nothing but a false dream, then what she truly desired was for Joe to rescue her like a knight in shining armor.
She was even willing to share Joe with another woman, willing to be a secret lover living in the shadows.
Joe's face turned grim. "Your family has no reason to stay in Jipsburg anymore."
Elsie felt as if she was struck by lightning.
She suddenly calmed down, recalling some of the rumors she had heard about Joe in the past. It was said that those who offended him almost never managed to stay in Jipsburg.
Those who tried to remain in the city ended up losing everything, falling to the bottom of society with no way to survive.
Her family was already on the verge of collapse. Alban was holding them hostage, but at least they still had some breathing room and maintained a respectable appearance outside.
But if Joe stepped in, her family would have nothing left!
"I was wrong! I'm sorry. I shouldn't have been pestering you! I truly made a mistake!" Elsie's knees went weak, and she almost collapsed to the ground.
Just then, two security guards arrived.
Seeing them, Elsie turned pale as a sheet. But she was still unwilling to give up as she stared at Joe.
