Ludwik had a gut feeling that Whitney was pinning the blame on Parker.
His brows furrowed in concentration, he recollected the events, speaking in a low tone, “Whitney, I get where you're coming from. Honestly, I also had my doubts about Parker…
After all, the two of them had been flirty and then suddenly at odds. But over those three years, I felt Parker had a different vibe towards Tiana.
After he came back to Emperor City, he told me about his time on Saltland Island.
He indeed stayed at Phineas's place to recover, but he never mentioned recognizing Tiana there.
He said it was only after he was rescued from the sea and regained his memory that he learned Tiana had been locked up by her uncle in search of him.
If something had happened between Parker and Tiana there, Parker wouldn’t have come back so calmly.
Of course, as his brother, he might not feel comfortable sharing that with me.”
Whitney was frozen, her mind racing, but at least she was sure now that Parker had indeed been on Saltland Island, giving him the opportunity to cross paths with Tiana!
Her eyebrows knitted together, “Then, Ludwik, I need you to call Parker right away. Try to probe him... Mention the news about Tiana’s pregnancy and see how he reacts. How about that?”
Ludwik thought it was a good plan, “I’ll confront that rascal right away. If he’s involved with the child, for better or worse, he needs to face this.”
But, would the news of Tiana's pregnancy be a shock to Parker?
Ludwik, with a deep frown, dialed Parker’s number, pondering how to subtly break the news to him…
However, Parker didn't pick up.
Ludwik then called his assistant, who informed him, “The young master left the docks suddenly about ten minutes ago after receiving a call. It seemed someone was looking for him, a woman.”
A woman? Who could it be?
Ludwik’s brow furrowed. It couldn’t possibly be Tiana, as Whitney mentioned she was still hospitalized.
Caught in his thoughts, Ludwik crushed his cigarette, glanced at his watch – he had an international conference coming up and couldn’t miss it.
Grabbing his documents, he summoned Felix, “Felix, track down Parker and find out which woman was looking for him. I need to see him after my meeting; I have important matters to discuss.”
“Right away, Mr. Lippert. I’m on it,” Felix said, leaving the CEO’s office swiftly.
Ludwik texted Whitney, “Parker was running an errand for me and had to leave suddenly. Can’t find him at the moment… Don’t worry, I’ll definitely talk to him today.”
Whitney, rubbing her forehead in frustration, felt uneasy about Parker's sudden disappearance. She quickly called Cody, “Cody, could you please find out where Parker is? I urgently need to talk to him.”
She was eager to confront Parker about whether he had any involvement with Tiana over a month ago…
-
Endora parked outside the café where she had arranged to meet Parker over Tiana’s issue. Sure enough, the mention was enough to make him rush over.
It showed how much Tiana meant to him!
She parked her car and watched from the window as Parker, a tall figure, stepped down from his modest Cadillac. His side profile, both handsome and roguish, sparked endless imagination.
With his new status as Phineas’s nephew, Parker seemed even more charismatic.
