Ludwik wasn't asking; he was demanding answers from the receptionist, his voice cutting through the air like a knife. "You've got surveillance cameras outside, right? I need to see the footage!"
Sensing his urgency, the receptionist quickly called over Erik, the person in charge of the surveillance room.
After reviewing the footage from the nearby intersection, Erik shook his head, his expression unchanged. "Ms. Tennyson was in a black bulletproof car. I didn’t see her license plate pass through here."
Whitney's fingers clenched tightly. "Did Mom change her route at the last minute or..."
"Or did she vanish somewhere along the way?" Ludwik's gaze was as cold as ice.
Just then, Ludwik's phone buzzed. It was Felix on the line. "Mr. Lippert, I was out tracking Bryce's movements and missed something. There was a text on your work phone from an unknown number. But judging by the tone, it sounds like Ms. Valentine’s mother. She wanted to meet you at Skye Gem Ltd."
"She texted me? When did this happen?" Ludwik's eyes narrowed.
Felix sounded apologetic. "About an hour ago. I'm sorry, I didn’t notice the phone buzz."
"Send me the text and the number!"
Ludwik's voice was as chilly as a winter wind. "Felix, what about Bryce and Florence? Have you tracked them down? Where are they now?"
"Mr. Lippert, Bryce has been hanging around the Inko Group lately. This morning, the general manager called the cops on him for causing trouble at their office. They arrested him, but by the time I got there, his lawyer had already bailed him out."
