Love Beyond the Mask novel Chapter 711

He was supposed to be in bad shape, right? Yet, just a moment ago, he was there, backing her up against Jarvis, doing all that stuff.

"Damn, the way Ludwik looks at you with those soft eyes... I'm starting to wonder if he's been possessed or something."

Sandy savored the moment, deeply moved, "He's changed so much; he's nothing like the Ludwik I knew. He used to be as cold as an iceberg, totally unapproachable. Especially how he aggressively took you away at the wedding, I thought he'd never let you go in this lifetime! And now, he’s all obedient to you."

Whitney was speechless.

Letting go, maybe because... it was the humane thing to do.

"Why did he change so suddenly? Do you think it's because his family's fortune took a hit? That must've been a massive blow to him," Sandy couldn't help but speculate.

"Enough with the gossip," Whitney cut her off, going over to pick up the bird's nest soup and porridge, handing it to her.

"I thought you said you didn't want anything from him?" Sandy blinked.

"It’s a shame to waste food."

Whitney, with a straight face, walked over, planning to throw away the spicy hot pot and lobster, but the aroma and sight made her mouth water.

Damn Ludwik.

She tried a piece of lobster... and then couldn’t stop.

After finishing everything, she touched her slightly bulging stomach, annoyed at herself. She had no willpower.

In the parking lot.

As Ludwik opened his car door, Jarvis’s mocking laughter came from behind, "Ludwik, you really didn’t give me any face back there, acting all high and mighty."

"Born to be arrogant. You want my respect? Maybe in another life, when I lay flowers on your grave," Ludwik's cold lips curved into a chilling smile.

Jarvis was momentarily stunned.

He clenched his fists, unable to suppress a scornful laugh, "Looks like you'll be the one in the grave first, Ludwik. You clearly don’t understand the concept of keeping a low profile. Let me teach you."

With a sinister chuckle, he kicked Ludwik's car door and got into his own car.

Ludwik glanced at the shoe print on his car, his eyebrows slightly furrowing before he closed the door.

However, shortly after driving out of the hospital, he realized he was being followed.

Six cars suddenly surrounded him, forming a tight circle.

His eyes narrowed, not particularly surprised.

He gripped the steering wheel tightly and suddenly accelerated!

The two cars weren’t easy targets either, aggressively attempting to ram him from all sides.

Ludwik swiftly maneuvered the steering wheel, threading through a very narrow gap between the three cars like lightning, causing one of them to panic and hit the gas, but still crashing into the car in front.

The three cars collided in an instant.

Ludwik saw this, his lips curving up, then he quickly took an exit, stepping on the gas and speeding away.

The smashed cars and their injured drivers were left in a mess.

One driver angrily slapped the steering wheel and dialed Jarvis, meekly reporting, "Nolan, we failed. He got away."

"Useless!" Jarvis’s rage surged, cursing loudly.

At the hospital, after taking care of Sandy, Whitney remembered she hadn’t told Bryce about the incident.

She stepped outside the room and called him.

"Bryce, sorry, Sandy fell from the second floor of the mall and needs to be hospitalized. I need to take care of her, so I can't move to your place today..."
