Florence was practically in tears, pointing a shaky finger at Ludwik. "Ludwik probably killed my mother. When we got here, he was inside, dealing with the bloodstains with Whitney. They were probably trying to cover it up!"
The mention of blood made the officer's eyebrows knit together as he cast a suspicious glance at Ludwik. "Ludwik, is it? When we arrived, we did see you and this young lady acting suspiciously, holding blood-stained clothes."
He continued, "Plus, this woman reported that her mother was kidnapped by you from her office late at night. We're starting to suspect you might be involved in Ms. Tennyson's disappearance. Of course, we'll investigate thoroughly. But for now, I'm taking you both to the station for questioning."
"They're lying! Ms. Parisa is my mother!" Whitney shouted, clearly frustrated as she pointed accusingly at Florence and Bryce. "Officer, you're being misled. It's these two who are scheming for my mom's estate. One's posing as a daughter, the other plotting murder."
She continued, "They kidnapped my mom on Maplewood Drive, brought her here, and killed her mercilessly. The priority now is to find my mother!"
"You're the one who's lying! Whitney, I can't believe you’re still playing dumb at this point." Florence cried, pulling out a document from her pocket and handing it to the officer. "This is a DNA test proving I'm Parisa's daughter. Whitney, you keep claiming you're her daughter, but do you have any evidence?"
She added, "You're just trying to steal my mother's estate by teaming up with Ludwik. He's been eyeing her company for a long time. Mr. Lutz can testify to that!"
Bryce smirked, backing up Florence's claim. "That's right, officer. I can testify that Ludwik sent people to attack Ms. Tennyson that night. I even saved Ms. Tennyson and her daughter. Now she's been murdered, and we found the crime scene first. If it wasn't Ludwik, then who?"
The officer examined the DNA test closely. Despite being in German, it was stamped with a hospital's official seal. He turned his skeptical gaze toward Whitney.
"That test is fake!" Whitney shouted, her voice filled with desperation. She hadn't had the chance to reunite with her mother and lacked strong evidence. Feeling faint, she leaned against Ludwik for support.
