"Officer, is my mom in there? Oh my God, that's her dress..."
Just then, a voice that infuriated Whitney to no end emerged from behind the officer.
Florence pushed past the officer, her face a mask of worry as she rushed closer to the stone altar, exclaiming angrily, "Ludwik, Whitney, how did you two end up here? Did you kidnap my mother? That's the dress she wore this morning! Officer, my mom is missing!"
Florence looked panicked as she reported to the officer behind her.
The sudden appearance of the police caught Whitney and Ludwik off guard. But the moment Whitney saw Florence, her already shattered heart seemed to explode.
Her pale, delicate face twisted with rage as she turned on the pretentious Florence, grabbing her hair and delivering a fierce slap across her cheek.
With eyes blazing, she roared, "Who do you think you are? That's my mom! Florence, you snake, what did you do to her? There's blood on her dress! Did you kill her? I'll make you pay!"
Whitney was a whirlwind of fury, clawing at Florence's pristine face, leaving bloody scratches, and even tightening her grip around her neck.
Ludwik, however, maintained his composure. Seeing the police suddenly burst in, his dark, cold eyes flickered with realization. These officers clearly weren’t his men. Did Florence call them?
His heart skipped a beat.
The man pressed his lips into a thin line, shielding the frenzied Whitney but not stopping her from attacking Florence. He even ground his foot into Florence's hand.
