Love Beyond the Mask novel Chapter 1078

Boom—

Ludwik's dark eyes narrowed with intensity.

A suspicion that had fleetingly crossed his mind was now being confirmed by Parker's very own eyes!?

"What do you mean by 'kind of looked like'? Parker, did you actually see her clearly? Are you sure you didn't mistake her appearance?" Ludwik, visibly agitated, grabbed Parker by the collar, his gaze as sharp as a dagger.

"This isn't something you can just guess about! Think carefully!" he practically barked at Parker.

Parker's dark, narrow eyes were filled with confusion. It had been just a fleeting glimpse, a mere half-second glance in the dead of night—how could he have seen clearly?

Yet, his instinct immediately brought Whitney's face to mind.

He trusted his instincts!

Parker pulled Ludwik's hand away, furrowing his brows and shaking his head, "I didn't see her clearly! It was too quick! But my gut feeling in that moment screamed Whitney. I just held onto that instinct. The silhouette and presence, aside from being older, really did remind me of Whitney..."

He pressed a hand to his temple, blood staining his fingertips. "Because I couldn't be sure, and it felt so bizarre, that's why I rushed over to tell you, Ludwik!"

"I see."

Ludwik took a deep, chilling breath, his gaze as profound as the abyss of the ocean.

"What do you see? I don't get it. Why would that mysterious person have anything to do with Whitney? Does she have some long-lost female relative alive?"

"This is weird, like something out of a novel. Could it be that someone from Whitney's family is secretly running the massive Inko Group in Germinia, and Florence just happened to bump into her?"

Ludwik placed a firm hand on Parker's shoulder, his deep voice dropping to a whisper, like the murmur of a shadowed pond. "What if this woman isn't just any relative, but Whitney's biological mother?"

"...What? Ludwik, even I know Whitney lost her mother when she was young! Her mother and grandfather supposedly died in a car crash, and Keegan once even accused you of being responsible!"
