Victoria was speechless.
Eva glanced at Victoria’s trisse profile. For a split second, she was cominded of the first time they met.
And before she could stop herself, the words slipped out. “If that incident hadn’t happened back then, do you think we could’ve been lifelong friends? “No,” Victoria replied without hesitation
Eva’s personality was too restless. Even if that incident had never happened, they wouldn’t have remained friends forever.
“In that case, let’s talk about Leon.” Eva wasn’t surprised by her answer. “You don’t want his attention on you, and you don’t want him meddling in your life.” Victoria huumed to look at her, unable to figure out what she was after.
“Neither do 1” Eva met het pie, unwavering “On this, our goals align”
“What are you trying to say? Victoria’s eyes flickered with emotion.
““A partnership,” Eva said plainly, stating her purpose.
“I’ll give you all my savings from the past few years. Once your mother’s condition stabilizes, you take her and leave Jonridge. If you agree, I’ll handle Leon.” Victoria frowned slightly.
Iva’s expression was more serious than ever. “I promise he won’t cause trouble for you or your friends.”
“I’ve already answered this question before,” Victoria said, her eyes still fixed on the glowing surgery light. She wasn’t interested in Eva’s proposal.
“Last time, I was using Leon’s money to force you to leave. It was humdiating, to say the least”
Eva stared at the same spot as her. “This time, it’s my own savings. I’m here to negotiate sincerely”
Victoria pressed her lips together. If it were possible, she wanted nothing to do with Leon. But some things were beyond her control
