“once you start working, your schedule will be much tighter. If you have to work late, just let me know. I’ll pick up Edwin for you.” 

“Alright.“Victoria agreed without hesitation 

There was no need for excessive politeness between them. They had been close friends since childhood, always helping each other along the way. Refusing him outright would only create unnecessary distance. 

After chatting for awhile longer, Victoria informed Timothy, the manager at Nexus Interactive Technologies, of her decision to join. Timothy responded promptly, sending her a list of documents and items she needed to bring for her onboarding 

She confirmed her acceptance. 

With a stable job secured, she finally felt somewhat relieved 

However, considering the expenses for Laura’s treatment, she logged into her secondary artist account after returning home and uploaded a few new illustrations for potential clients. 

Her main account was filled with award–winning works, and commissions on that plation 

platform often raceeded a thousand dollars. However, those were not regular or steady sources 

of income 

On the other hand, her secondary account offered commissions ranging from a few dozen to a few hundred dollars, which attracted more requests and allowed her to earn some extra income. 

On Thursday, after dropping Edwin off at school, Victoria rushed to the company. She arrived before 9.00 am. Timothy personally greeted her before guiding her through the contract signing and project briefing. 

To be honest, she found it a little odd. Normally, these procedures were handled by HR. If a candidate was particularly important, the HR director might step in, but it was unusual for a manger to personally handle the entire process. 

“Welcome to Nexus Interactive, Timothy said with a friendly smile after she signed the contract. “with you on board, this new project is in good hands.”
