Defying Fate: The Unstoppable Eileen novel Chapter 379

Everyone: "..."

Egbert: "..."

The room was filled with awkward silence as everyone stared at Eileen.

Salome, flabbergasted, finally broke the silence, "Are you trying to roast Galen's sheep?"

Eileen, flustered, quickly defended herself, "I didn't! I swear I didn't!"

At that moment, Galen burst into the room, one hand holding a rifle and the other pointing accusingly at Eileen, shouting, "Come out!"

Eileen peeked out from behind Egbert, "Put the gun down first, then I'll come out!"

Galen chuckled in exasperation, "I don't even know how to shoot! What are you afraid of? Come out!"

Eileen laughed too, but with a hint of frustration, "That's exactly what scares me! You don't know how and might accidentally fire it!"

Galen started circling around Egbert, trying to get to Eileen. "Come out!"

Eileen mirrored his movements, staying on the opposite side. "Not gonna happen!"

"You..." Galen was at a loss.

Egbert, feeling a headache coming on, rubbed his temples. He turned and took Eileen's hand, saying to Galen, "She said she didn't do it."

Galen was incredulous, "And you just believe her?"

Egbert shrugged, "What else?"

Galen: "..."

The staff nearby: "..."

Eileen was fuming!

Seeing Galen's persistence, she stretched her neck out and emphasized, "I didn't do it! I didn’t! I didn’t!"

Just then, the resort's concierge finally caught up with them, panting heavily. "Sir, you've got it all wrong... We were just giving them a bath, not planning to roast them..."

Galen almost fired his rifle in his frustration. "I saw it with my own eyes!"

The concierge, an older gentleman, was out of breath and slumped to the ground. "The pot and spices, they're for my wife's cooking. Weren't you the one who requested a special dinner tonight? We needed to go to storage for the right cookware."

Galen was taken aback.

Eileen peeked out again, her eyes red with frustration. "I told you, I was just playing by the hillside! I saw the concierge needed help with the sheep bath, so I lent a hand! He couldn't carry the pot, so I helped with that too! And you thought I was up to no good!"

Galen hesitated, lowering his rifle, glancing between the concierge and Eileen, uncertainty written all over his face.

The concierge, still catching his breath, added, "You trust her, don't you? Or at least trust me? You always sleep with the sheep when you're back. This time you returned unexpectedly, so I was rushing to clean them up before nightfall..."

Galen felt a wave of embarrassment wash over him. "Really?"

The concierge nodded, "Absolutely."

Galen turned back to Eileen.

Eileen, still upset, turned her back to him with a huff, refusing to meet his gaze.

Galen scratched his head awkwardly and handed the rifle to the concierge. "Maybe I did jump to conclusions..."

Eileen looked away, stubbornly ignoring him.

Galen moved in front of her, trying to explain, "But you can't blame me entirely. I mean, the way you were handling them looked a bit odd, like you were up to something..."

Eileen raised her chin defiantly, "Drooling while washing sheep, is that a crime?"

Galen offered, "How about I apologize?"

Eileen remained silent, turning her head away once more.

Desperate, Galen turned to Egbert, "Can you help me out here?"

Egbert shook his head, "She's too mad right now. If I try, I'll just end up in trouble too."

Galen: "..."
