"Take them all out," she said, her tone as casual as if she were discussing the weather.
But how exactly do you do that?
The young man watched as the girl beside him rummaged through her supply bag, pulling out a package of items. "The school" was a treasure trove of resources, and Eileen was the first contestant to land there. She spent mere seconds tying up Pook before she began scavenging supplies.
She found the largest supply bag and, with lightning speed, packed it with the best items she could find. But that wasn't all she packed.
The young man raised an eyebrow at the two bags of parts in front of him. It only took a glance for him to identify them as a rapid-fire assault rifle and a high-caliber sniper rifle.
The official rules dictated that guns and ammunition were to be scattered separately throughout the arena. Due to the bulky nature of firearms, most contestants could only carry two at most. But Eileen had dismantled the official guns into what looked like a jumble of spare parts. These two bags of parts were about the size of a loaf of bread combined, easily fitting into her supply bag to be reassembled when needed.
Meanwhile, the chat was exploding on the USA side.
—[This girl's toast!]
—[Dismantling guns implies she knows how to reassemble them, but that's not a big deal. Many contestants are ex-military, and Pook can also reassemble weapons.]
—[Pook can reassemble a level-two shotgun in a minute and thirty seconds, which is fast, but it's pointless if someone shoots you in the head while you're assembling.]
—[This must be a woman's logic—thinking you need to carry everything. In a man's world, one suitable tool is enough.]
—[No wonder there are so few female contestants in "Valiant Quest." They're just cannon fodder, destined to be stepping stones for men. War is a man's domain.]
—[Dick's team has eighteen members, with specialized roles for offense, long-range, and logistics. They have four high-caliber sniper rifles. Even if she assembles hers in a few minutes, how does she expect to take them all out?]
—[Wait, her gun's already assembled?]
—[When did she do that? Twenty-four seconds? She reassembled such detailed parts in twenty-four seconds?]
—[So what if she can assemble a gun? Gun shop owners can do it fast too!]
—[Look, she's on the move!]
—[So what if she moves? At this distance, she thinks she can hit anything? The longest range for a high-caliber sniper is two kilometers, and this is at least three—what the heck!]
—[Whoa!!!!]
—[A headshot with one shot!!]
—[No way! Another headshot! How could she hit them from three kilometers away? She must be cheating!]
The young man crouching beside Eileen glanced down at his smartwatch, which displayed the names of those eliminated.
[bo with b87 eliminated Jacob]
[bo with b87 eliminated Mandy]
He stared at the name "bo" on his watch, hesitated a moment, then asked Eileen, "Is this 'bo'...?"
"That's me."
The young man was speechless for a moment. Eileen expertly reloaded her gun, continued aiming through her scope at the bridge below, and said nonchalantly, "My another name is 'bo.' Didn't you see how many people I've taken out already?"
Well, he had noticed, but the question had been nagging at him.
Curious, he asked, "Bo, that's more of a nickname than a real name, isn't it?"
Eileen shook her head and sighed. "It's too late now, can't change it."
The young man was puzzled. "?"
Eileen didn't elaborate. She'd already told Paulina that her name was bo and couldn't backtrack now. Did she like it? Not particularly.
Meanwhile, the chat back home was buzzing.
—[This is insane!]
—[Aurora Bell’s name is Jenny-Anna, and yours is bo?]
—[That's ridiculous! Are you sure you're not a guy?]
—[Almost died laughing at the comment above. If Eileen isn't a guy, then what is she?]
The young man was still fixated on the "bo" on his watch when a loud "bang" sounded!
[bo with b87 eliminated Noah]
[bo with b87 eliminated Nice]
[bo with b87 eliminated Crispin]
The international chat erupted.
—[Report her already! How can she shoot so far?]
—[Dick, you idiot, get out of there! You're just standing around like a target!]
"Beep beep! Beep beep!"
Eileen was in the zone when her smartwatch suddenly issued a red alert. She frowned and glanced at it, pressing a button in the middle.
In an instant, a video call from the show's official host, a bearded man, popped up, spewing rapid-fire English at her.
"What's going on with your gun? Did you smuggle it in? Our show doesn't allow personal items! This is cheating, and you'll be disqualified! Stop immediately! Our team will escort you out! You'll owe us damages..."
"Who said I was cheating?" Eileen interrupted, annoyed, as she continued to scan the bridge below for her next target.
The host barked, "The b87's maximum range is two kilometers! But you..."
