Chapter 60
Janice gripped the car keys and walked over quickly. “Aren’t you supposed to be in Lakeshore City?
Edward looked down at her for a moment belote nodding. “Didn’t you hope I’d come back today?”
Abuzz resonated in panice’s mind. She felt a bit flustered and was momentarily at a loss for words as no one had shown such concern for her words before.
“You’ve been working till this late? How about grabbing a late–night snack?
Janice nodded, “Sure! What do you feel like eating?”
Pet in the car first”
Instead of getting into the car next to him, Edward walked toward the Cullinan, Janker followed him and naturally took the driver’s seat. Upon receiving a signal from Edward, she started the engine and drove off
Edward Tastened his seatbelt in the front passenger seat and said, “I’m not hungry. You pick the place.”
“The things Teat. He might not be able to handle what she had in mind,
After hustling for the past couple of days, Janice felt a bit worn out. Whenever she was especially tired, she craved barbecue. “You might not like where I usually go.”
“A street stall?!
“Not exactly. It’s a small shop with a less–than–ideal atmosphere.”
Edward appeared a bit drunk; he was still recovering from drinking.
Janice drove the Cullinan toward the barbecue place she often visited during her early years with Simson, when they were still struggling. It was definitely a messy and rundown spot. When Edward saw it, he thought he was being kidnapped.
“Why don’t you sit the car for a while? I can grab you some food,” Jmice suggested.
Edward stepped out of the car. “Let’s go.”
“Hi, Janke!” the owner greeted her warmly. “Same as usual?”
“Yes.” Janice wanted to ask Edward if he wanted anything, but she knew he wouldn’t be keen on food from such a place. As expected, Edward declined to cat; he simply kept her company.
Janice didn’t feel awkward and enjoyed her meal when the barb arrived.
Noticing her satisfied expression, Edward asked, “Did you come here often?
“Yeah.” Janice paused before adding, “Always by myself”
When she had time to come and eat, her business was already on track. During that period, Simon often entertained ellents at upscale venues, so she typically came alone or brought along a few of the seamstresses
“The seamstress will be able to start work in a week. They don’t plan to resign because Simon won’t let them go. The penalty for breaking their contract isn’t much, and I’ve already covered it. They’ll join us when the time comes,” Janice explained.
“The Winter Tournament has been moved forward this year. It’s happening in mid–February,” she added.
There was still a month and a half left. Janice had to focus on finishing the crochet plece she had designed herself.
“For the other crochet competitions at the end of the month, I’ve already selected the pieces. Filshow them to you tomorrow.”
Edward lit acigarette but didn’t smoke it, he just used to mask the greasy smell in the air.
“I told you to make the decisions,” he replied
Janior looked up at him. “What were you going to say earlier?”
