Heidi hadn't been keeping up with Shirley's official Instagram updates lately because Shirley never posted anything! Naturally, she didn't notice that Shirley had changed her profile picture.
Janice had changed her Instagram profile picture before her last court hearing with Simon.
Feeling the eyes on her, Heidi steadied herself. "My assistant probably changed it for me. I don't really pay attention to these details."
This was a subtle jab at Janice, implying that Janice had too much free time on her hands.
Myra smiled and nodded slowly. "That makes sense. Work keeps you busy. Well, why don't you take a video with me? My friends are all dying to meet Shirley Olson in person. They've been asking me to introduce them."
As a sign of respect, Myra personally stood up and walked toward Shirley. On any other occasion, others would be catering to her.
Gregory and Emma had no objections, of course.
Just as Myra approached Heidi while recording on her phone, Heidi overreacted. She suddenly jumped up, accidentally knocking Myra's phone straight into a pot of soup on the table.
The soup splashed everywhere, and Edward instinctively shielded Janice's face. The scalding liquid hit the back of his hand, instantly turning his skin red.
The whole scene happened so suddenly that no one else was spared from the soup attack, aside from Janice and Terry, who were seated farther from the pot of soup.
Myra frowned, looking down at her now-ruined dress covered in soup stains.
Heidi panicked. "I'm so sorry, Mrs. Gallagher. I..."
Without saying a word, Myra grabbed a napkin and wiped her dress, but it was too late as the soup had already seeped into the fabric. And her phone was completely ruined.
"Didi, why are you so worked up?" Emma quickly got up and rushed to Myra's side. "Mrs. Gallagher, are you alright?"
Janice, having snapped out of her shock, also turned to check on Myra.
Myra's wrist was red from the contact with the hot soup, but Myra remained silent.
The whole family was concerned for her.
It took a while before Myra finally said, "It's fine."
Heidi was a nervous wreck, and her hands were trembling. She felt like she had seriously offended Myra. But then, she reminded herself that she still carried Shirley's title. Myra probably wouldn't make things too difficult for her.
