Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon) novel Chapter 112

"Like you said, they're just rumors."

Jacob seemed a little disappointed. "Oh, okay."

He realized he had taken a liking to Edward, whom he had only met twice.

At least, Edward seemed more reliable than Simon, and he looked like he was capable of protecting Janice.

Edward sat in his Bentley by the roadside. He looked up casually and immediately spotted Janice, who donned a white coat and black boots that day. Her slightly wavy hair bounced as she braved against the winter breeze to walk to him.

Janice was pretty all the time, and he did not hide his admiration for her. After she joined him in the car, he asked, "Did you dress up today?"

"You said you'd have guests over tonight, didn't you? I ordered some gifts for your mom and aunt too, and I picked them up just now."

Edward lowered his gaze with a smile. "Alright."

The car drove off toward the Moore residence.

At 5:30 pm, Emma arrived at the Moore residence and wrapped Barbara in an enthusiastic hug. "Gosh, Mrs. Moore! It's been a while!"

"Hello, Mrs. Moore," Gregory greeted Barbara politely before acknowledging Terry and Myra. "Hi, Mr. and Mrs. Gallagher."

Heidi was dressed to the nines. She had put extra effort into her makeup that day. She chirped, "Hi, Mr. and Mrs. Gallagher."

Barbara said, "Please take your seats. I made some tea."

When they settled down, Gregory chatted with Terry. Meanwhile, Emma wouldn't let go of Heidi's hand. "Didi is too busy lately, or she would've come up with new crochet products for both of you, Mr. and Mrs. Gallagher."

Heidi flashed a gentle smile and kept her poise. "Mrs. Moore, Mrs. Gallagher, I hope you don't mind my humble gift."

"Oh, don't be silly!" Barbara accepted the handkerchiefs. "I've always wanted one. Thank you, Ms. Ryan."

Heidi wondered why Barbara had addressed her in such a formal manner.
