Barbara did not stop Myra from doing so. She turned to Edward and reminded him, "We have enough money to go around, but as Janice's boyfriend, you need to stand up for her. If she gets into a legal battle with Simon, you need to help her out.
"Don't misunderstand her because of the gossip. If there are any conflicts, you need to communicate in time. And if she's in a bad mood, just coax her."
Edward's eyes flickered with emotions. "Okay."
Once Edward and Janice left, Myra said, "Barbara, invite the Ryan family to our place tomorrow. We need to check whether or not Heidi is Shirley."
If not, Heidi needed to apologize to Janice publicly. For now, they would ignore all the gossip out there.
Barbara went to grab her phone. "Sure."
…
That night, Gregory and Emma happily looked for Heidi after receiving the invitation from Barbara.
"My lovely daughter!"
Confused, Heidi asked, "What's going on?"
"Edward's family finally knows you're Shirley! Our project should be safe now."
Heidi gasped in shock. "What?"
"After they learned that you're Shirley, they invited us to visit them at Barbara's temporary residence in Greenfield City." Emma struggled to contain her excitement.
They would love to forge connections with the Moore and Thompson families so that their family business would take off.
However, Heidi looked skeptical. "Did they take the bait? Did they not ask questions?"
"They asked nothing! They just wanted to host us."
Heidi finally felt more relieved. Since the Moore family wasn't in the crochet industry, they wouldn't dig deeper for the truth. Heidi would be ecstatic if she could fake being Shirley and win the Moore family's favor.
As for the incident where she scolded Janice, she believed the Moore family wouldn't hold it over her, given that she was "Shirley".
"I'll get the outfit ready for tomorrow's visit."
"Go!" Emma chirped.
Then, she sighed. "I've raised a good daughter, indeed."
