But when fosephine walked into the living room, her heart sank a little at the sight of Shawn, head bowed, not dating to meet her gaze. How could someone he so shamelessly migrateful? 

Her eyes drifted to the wedding photo on the wall, and she frowned. “Didn’t I throw that out:

“Thad the photographer print a new set and rebung them,” Zayn hastily explained. 

So, that was what happened. For a second there, she thought she was losing her mind, 

Josephine pulled out her phone and made a call. “George, can you come in for a moment 

Zayn had no idea who George was, nor did he care. All he law was that if he didn’t clear up the misunderstanding now, it would leave a lasting crack on their relationship, even if it got resolved later. 

“Josephine; after we parted ways at the hospital, I drove to confront Nadine. I was upset and got into an accident on the way. I didn’t want to go to the hospital, so Shawn brought me back to the villa 

“I swear I didn’t call her here, and she’s never set foot in our house! Belleve me. It I’m lying, may I get hit by a car the moment I step out the door!” Josephine had no patience lett for his empty oaths. If it weren’t for how childish it would look, she would’ve stuck herfingers in her ears. 

Just then, a young man rushed in. “Ms. Dunn, you wanted to see me? 

“yes. I need a favor, George.” 

George chirped. “Just say the word, Ms. Dann. Mr. Dane told me to be your all–around assistant while you’re in Crestwood” 

“Mr. Dane?” Zayn scowled. “Who is this Mr. Dane you’re referring to?” 

George scratched his nose with a sheepish smile. “Mr. Ethan Dane is my boss.” 

“Oh?” Zayn turned to Josephine, confusion written all over his face. “How well do you know him? I thought you only met him for the first time at Arthur’s party. Why would he go out of his way to look after you here?” 

Josephine had no intention of answering, but George eagerly chimed in, “Mr. Dane and Ms. Dunn are just friends. He learned that she didn’t have a place to stay in Crestwood and felt bad about her being stuck in a hotel. So, he let her stay in his villa, had the housekeeper take care of her meals, and asked me to handle her transportation ” 

Josephine shot George a waring glare He was definitely saying more than he needed to. That’s enough, George. Take down the wedding photos on the wall. “Roger that!” George looked up at the framed photos on the wall. Some were hung quite lugh, but there was a cabinet nearby, so climbing up wouldn’t be a problem. Without asking why she wanted them down, he rolled up his sleeves and got to work 

Zayn stepped in front of him with a single stride. “Take one more step, and I’ll make sure you regret It! 

George kept a smile on his face. “Sir, you might be Ms. Dunn’s friend, but if you speak to me like that, I won’t just stand here and take it.” He then took two more step forward.
