Chapter 89 

“Do you really need such a professional setup just for glasses?” Josephine asked. 

Ethan replied, “I have severe myopia. Without the right care, it could affect my vision.” 

She grew curious. “How bad is it?” 

“Over 500 degrees.” 

Josephine immediately turned serious. “In that case, you should definitely consider LASIK surgery. Severe myopia can affect your filming. My films don’t allow contact lenses, and I won’t have colored contacts either.” 

Ethan smiled. “Alright, I’ll consider your advice.” 

The lab was full of people, including eight or so researchers and more than a dozen intems. 

As soon as Josephine entered, the eyes of the entire room tumed to her. The silence was deafening. They were stunned by her sudden appearance, but Josephine misunderstood and thought she wasn’t welcome. She quickly stepped back, accidentally bumping into Ethan. 

Ethan steadied her by her shoulders and smiled. “This is my friend, Josephine. Show some courtesy and stop staring at her.” 

Reluctantly, they looked away, though they couldn’t help but sneak glances at her. 

Two researchers came over to chat with Ethan, while others whispered quietly among themselves. 

“Who is that woman?” 

‘She’s so beautiful. Is she a social media influencer, or maybe a celebrity? Someone look her up online!! 

“Is she Ethan’s girlfriend? Wow, they make such a perfect couple–he’s handsome, and she’s gorgeous.” 

Ethan soon walked with the researchers over to a set of precision instruments, leaving Josephine standing there awkwardly. She didn’t dare touch anything in the lab, so she distracted herself by staring at a poster on the wall. 

To her surprise, Ethan was in one of the photos on the poster 

Curious, she read the text beneath. It revealed that Ethan was dissatisfied with the materials used in his glasses. Thus, he took part in designing a new type of lens material. He even won three major awards for it.. 

No wonder he could come and go from the research institute so easily. 

Josephine couldn’t help but look at Ethan again. She felt increasingly intrigued by how mysterious he was. Not only was he an actor and a rising business star, but he also studied finance and dabbled in Scientific research

She wondered how one person could be so versatile. Her mind started to wander, and she even entertained the idea that he might be an Al–i programmed for perfection. 

As she was lost in thought, Ethan suddenly stood up and walked toward her. When their eyes met, his face lit up with a smile. “It will take over an hour to make the glasses. Let me show you around.” 

Josephine quickly averted her gaze and said, “Oh, okay.” 

As they walked off, the group of interns immediately gathered around the researchers. 

“Sit, did Ethan get a girlfriend?” 

“I heard Ethan wasn’t interested in women. What happened?” 

“Oh my god, Ethan’s not celibate! He just never met the right woman before!” 

The murmurs and comments reached Erhan and Josephine’s ears. 

Ethan looked apologetic as he said, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to cause a misunderstanding.”
