Chapter 40 

Josephine took a deep breath to calm her nerves before forcing a smile and entering the private room. As soon as she walked in, Henry greeted her with warmth. 

However, has first comment was, “You look pale. Did you not get enough rest?” 

Josephine coullenly play along and replied, “Maybe I’m not used to the climate here yet.” 

“That’s why I made sure to order plenty of nourishing dishes for you today. You need to eat more later.” 

Since her very first movie, Henry had been a devoted fan and treated her like a goddess; During their discussions about the movie production, he eagerly agreed with everything she said. If she asked for one thing, he would offer ten without hesitation. 

With Henry’s support, Josephine had nothing to worry about in terms of financing the movie. She could be less stressed and concerned. 

Out of nowhere, a peeled shrimp appeared on Josephine’s plate. She turned to Ethan with surprise, noticing that he had already peeled a second one for himself and was now polting another on Siman’s plate. 

Simon looked shocked and gazed at Erhan as if he had seen a ghost Ethan gave Simon a subtle look before placing a third peeled shrimp on josephine’s plate. 

Henry quickly chimed in, “Come on, try them. They’re still fresh! These stump were air–transported this morning.” 

With Henry urging her to eat and Ethan peeling shrimp for her, Josephine couldn’t refuse any longer. She picked up a piece and took a bite, but after eating two, she could no longer stomach anymore, 

Mason glanced wontedly at her and said, “Ms. Dunn, you really should eat more. You barely ate anything last night. Your body isn’t invincible, you know?” Just as Josephine was about to respond, Ethan interjected calmly, “Perhaps the food doesn’t agree with her palate.” 

These words caused a flustered expression to appear on Henry’s face 

Josephine quickly interjected, “How can that be? Mr. Wilde has invited me to dinner more than anyone 1 know. No one else knows my preferences as well as he does. 

This reassured Henry and brought a smi of joy to his face. “Then eat more! We don’t want people getting the wrong impression.” 

Feeling powerless, Josephine forced herself to take a few more bites. 

However, after the dinner ended and they walked outside to say goodbye, Josephine suddenly felt lightheaded. She stumbled and nearly tell, but Ethan caught her before she hit the ground. 

“What’s wrong?” He asked with concern in his voice 

Josephine shook her head slightly, bo the dizziness only intensified, especially at the back of her head, where it felt like sharp needles were pricking her skin. “…” She wanted to say “I’m okay” but before she could say that, her vision went black, and she collapsed onto the pavement 

When she regained consciousness, she found herself lying in a hospital bed. She opened her eyes and saw Mason sitting by her bedside with a worried look. Her memory was fuzzy, but she vaguely remembered fainting before. 

As soon as Mason noticed she was awake, he let out a heavy sigh. “I told you to eat more, but you never listen. You have hypoglycemia, don’t you? you….” So, it was her low blood sugar that caused her to faint
