This was Zayn's fight against Yvan. It had nothing to do with her—so why should she sacrifice herself, even her marriage, to help him?
Clearly, Zayn only cared about his own interests. But she wasn't foolish enough to let herself be used.
"We're already divorced. None of this concerns me. My only priority is protecting my reputation. So, Zayn, I'll ask you one last time—are you going to clear things up or not? If you won't, I'll handle it myself."
Zayn gritted his teeth. "Josephine, the whole world is against me right now. I thought you were the only person I could count on—but in my darkest hour, the one standing by my side is Nadine, not you."
"What's so surprising about that? You two are in love—it's only natural for her to stand by you and take your side, isn't it?" Josephine sneered, but deep down, her heart twisted with jealousy, aching as if someone had it in a vice grip.
In the past three years, she had given so much. For everything he knew she had done, he should have been grateful for the rest of his life.
And yet, this was how he repaid her.
"I'll ask you one last time—are you going to tell the truth or not?"
Zayn's voice dropped to a cold, heavy tone. "Do you really have to push me like this?"
Josephine frowned, wondering who was really the one doing the pushing. Without hesitation, she ended the call.
Just as she was about to call Mason and ask if he had any countermeasures, her phone rang—it was Jaime.
"Ms. Dunn, congratulations! Your shares have all been sold!"
All sold? At a time like this?
Josephine tensed up immediately. "Who did you sell them to? Has the payment gone through?"
