Josephine's worst fear finally came true.
The next day, just before noon, Zayn suddenly posted a statement on his personal account.
The statement was long—over 800 words—and covered three main points.
First, he admitted that Mrs. Forbes was indeed seeking a divorce, but he claimed he had always thought she was just acting out in anger and hadn't taken it seriously. He also said he'd been trying to win her back all along.
Second, he accused Mrs. Forbes of selling all the gifts he had given her and pocketing the money. He also alleged that she was preparing to sell the 17% stake in Forbes Group that he had gifted her.
Third, he acknowledged that he had once been involved with Nadine, but said he'd kept it a secret to avoid making Mrs. Forbes jealous. He declared that Mrs. Forbes was the only woman he loved and that he was willing to forgive everything—as long as she was willing to come back to him.
The statement was stamped with his lawyer's official seal.
When Josephine received a call from Mason and opened her phone to read the statement, she was so angry that her stomach began to ache.
The dignified and clean break she had hoped for was now out of the question.
Zayn was willing to burn all bridges to drag her name through the mud.
She couldn't even find the words to describe him.
He was despicable, shameless, and disgusting!
Those were the harshest words she could come up with in her rage.
Unable to hold back, she immediately grabbed her phone and called Zayn.
To her surprise, he answered almost instantly. "Calm down, Josephine. Listen to me—I didn't post that statement. It was my dad. He took control of my account. From now on, everything posted on it reflects his wishes, not mine."
So, it wasn't Zayn…
