Patricia's sob story didn't pull any weight at all. Her eyes filled with resentment, glared at Ellinor, "No, no... Ellinor, you made up these lies to smear me! It's you! It's all your plot! You're out to get me! I won't let you have your way..."
Unable to turn the tide, Patricia lost her cool and dropped her act. She lunged at Ellinor, trying to choke the life out of the one who kept screwing up her plans...
Yet, she didn't even manage to lay a finger on Ellinor before Theo had her wrist in a firm grip, "What do you think you're doing?"
Patricia didn't dare to lash out at Theo; she defended herself through tears, "Theo, you can't believe what this woman is saying! Don't trust her!
Ellinor, she's a girl from a poor family, she wants riches and luxury, everything she's done is to win your favor, so she's trying her best to drive a wedge between us, that way she can successfully become a rich lady! You absolutely can't trust her."
Theo's brows furrowed in disgust, but he never laid a hand on a woman.
After pushing Patricia away in annoyance, he looked coldly at Balfour nearby and demanded, "Aren't you going to rein in your sister?"
Balfour was nearby and instinctively wanted to protect Ellinor when Patricia charged at her. Luckily, Theo was quick enough to shield Ellinor first.
Patricia was pushed a meter away by Theo, and her emotional state deteriorated further. She looked to Balfour for help, "Balfour, Ellinor is smearing me, bullying me...Balfour, you have to stand up for me..."
Xenia walked over, sympathetically helped her daughter up, and angrily said, "Balfour, look at what Patri has been put through. Aren't you going to do something? How can you let an outsider slander Patri like this!"
She knew that even though Balfour didn't give two hoots about his stepmother, he always doted on Patri and would never tolerate anyone hurting her!
Balfour looked coldly at Xenia and Patricia, and he said without an ounce of warmth, "You two disgust me!"
His words shocked both Xenia and Patricia.
