The Kiss that Sparked it All novel Chapter 2264

Diana never imagined that her perfectly orchestrated evening would crash and burn like this. Everything was going so smoothly. She had even managed to deal with that thorn in her side, Kael. Until she found herself bound hand and foot alongside him, completely blindsided.

"Guess it's true what they say, 'play with fire, and you're gonna get burned,' huh?" Kael sneered with a mocking laugh as Diana glared at him furiously.

"Was it you? Did you rat me out? You backstabbing jerk!"

It wasn't until now that she even noticed Kael's presence in the lounge. Moments before, she had been flirting with Balfour, utterly oblivious to the average Joe sitting across the room.

Especially when Kael saw that blush on her face, that look of a woman obsessed - something he had never been privy to. She probably would not have noticed his presence if he had not spoken up.

How pathetic.

This unrequited love had cost him his self-respect and his future.

"What does it matter if I did or did not rat you out? You've already made up your mind about me, haven't you?" Kael knew Diana better than anyone. Even before he confirmed anything, she had already convicted him in her mind.

What good would his denial do? It would end the same way.

“You’re such a loser, can't even handle a woman properly,” He cursed at himself inwardly.

"Ugh, loser, don't ever tell people you like me!" Diana's facade had crumbled, revealing a look of disdain and superiority.

Kael gave a bitter laugh and asked, "Did you ever feel anything for me, even for a second?"
