The Kiss that Sparked it All novel Chapter 1564

Adrian clung to his mother's hand tightly. "No! Mommy, I want to be with you!"

Ellinor hadn't seen her son for several days, and despite her anger at his reckless wandering alone, her heart was still filled with concern for him. She gently cupped his small face, asking softly, "Have you had lunch?"

Adrian nodded. "Yes, I have."

Ellinor paused for a moment before asking, "And... him?"

Adrian tilted his head. "Mommy, are you asking if handsome Dad had his meal?"

Ellinor grunted, feeling slightly annoyed.

"Handsome Dad had his meal too. We ate together when Sophia was still here."

After Ellinor responded with an uninterested hum, she scanned the room.

"Mommy, let's go! Let's see how handsome Dad's rehabilitation is going." Adrian took Ellinor's hand and headed towards the bedroom.

Ellinor followed her son for a few steps, raising an eyebrow in disdain. She had just come out of that room.

When Adrian pushed the door open, he saw a tall figure on the balcony, struggling to practice walking and sweating profusely.

His leg seemed to have severe muscle atrophy. The likelihood of him being able to stand and walk on his own again seemed low.

But he seemed determined to not give up.

Adrian felt sorry for the man, loudly asking, "Handsome Dad! Do you want some water? I can get it for you!"

Marcus looked at them with his lips pressed tight with exertion. "No, I'm not thirsty."
