The Indifferent Ex-Husband: Heartstrings in the Mall of Fate novel Chapter 605

The ship had got a top-notch chef, and she could whip up a meal herself too if needed be.

"I'm really fine, just a little cold." Sophia tried to put Amanda at ease. She even flexed her muscles for emphasis, "Look, no fever now. Plus, getting some fresh air and grounding myself with a walk outside is just what the doctor ordered for getting back on track."

Amanda put on a grumpy face, "So you just don't wanna head back, huh?"

Sophia felt a tad busted but couldn't help but crack a smile and nodded earnestly, "Yeah."

That reply was delicate and sweet, like something out of a schoolgirl's playbook. Amanda couldn't resist it and caved in, pretending to be helpless.

"Alright, alright, two days it is. But if you're not better in two days, we really have to head back."

Sophia didn't agree verbally, just nodded and said, "I'll work on getting better."

Amanda didn't catch the slight shift in the conversation and just smiled helplessly, suggesting she grab some dinner first.

It wasn't until after nine in the evening that Amanda finally went back to her room. Sophia finally had a moment to check her phone.

President Poe had messaged her, asking if Brandon and Kent had reached out to her after being added to the conversation, what their take was on her designs, and if they had requested any further tweaks. Clearly, he was more anxious than she was.

Sophia was feeling the pressure too. She really hoped to have an answer before boarding the ship. But neither Kent nor Brandon had said anything about the designs.

After she had sent her apology message, Kent had replied with a "no worries" and then radio silence.

Brandon had accidentally made a video call, but he didn't mention anything about the designs either.

Sophia replied to President Poe with a "not yet" and exited the chat. Brandon's WhatsApp chat was right under Poe's. She hadn't updated his contact name yet; it still read "Brandon".
