The Great Medical Saint novel Chapter 363

Rachel felt a pang in her heart upon seeing the familiar figure.

Matthew was the first man in her life, and she had thought they would be together forever. She hadn't expected them to be so close the day before, but strangers the next day.

To protect Matthew and the Carter family, she had to steel her heart and resolve.

She took a deep breath to stabilize her emotions, then resumed her cold demeanor and approached him. "Matthew, why are you here?"

Matthew hadn't noticed it earlier, but when Rachel spoke, there was a slight tremor in her voice. It seemed that her emotions were in turmoil.

He felt that Rachel was acting against her own will, so he looked at her and said seriously, "Rachel, is Isaac threatening you? I'm a man; I can handle certain things. You don't need to shoulder the burden."

Hearing Matthew say this only made Rachel even more determined to distance him from this matter.

But her words the day before seemed to have been too soft. She had to be more ruthless and say something harsher to make Matthew give up completely.

She quickly thought it through. Just saying harsh words wasn't enough; it had to be believable.

Soon, she knew what to say.

"Matthew, I'm not an idiot. If something was wrong, I'd definitely tell you and let you, as a man, take the lead. But things aren't what you think. The truth is, you're not worthy of me.

"The Carter family is a billion-dollar empire, and I'm so beautiful. If I'm going to find a husband, it has to be someone richer. Your little bit of money isn't even a tenth of the Carter family's wealth. Do you think we're a good match? If my family has a problem, can you solve it?

"I need to find a man from a wealthier family and a stronger background to develop my company into the most powerful enterprise. What's your background? A divorcee with a criminal record?"

Matthew's face turned frosty. He could sense that Rachel was being very rational, and her words made logical sense.

His last shred of hope was shattered. He was disappointed in the woman standing before him.

"Rachel, since that's what you decided, then let's break up. I hope you don't regret it!"
