At the entryway, the weak and thin Helena instantly was covered in tears. "What... what did you say?"
Eevonne's tears instantly streamed down her face as well. "Missus Yates, my name is ...Eevonne."
"Yvonne? It's Yvonne! My daughter has returned!" The sound of someone running over could be heard coming from the living room. Immediately after that, Vincent came running out of the living room.
He looked happy but his face was covered in tears. However, when he saw Eevonne, his face was covered with disappointment. It was as if he had gotten more than ten years older in that instant. His tone was dull and without the slightest bit of energy at all. "I thought that my Yvonne has really returned."
Upon saying that, the old man turned around and went back to the living room. He did not even greet Sabrina and Ruth.
"Mister Yates, I am Eevonne," she called behind him.
Vincent turned around and looked at Eevonne, and then said calmly, "Thank you, miss. Which family are you from?"
Eevonne put the gifts in her hands in the junction between the entryway and the living room, and then she held Vincent's arm. "Mister Yates, I am not your Yvonne, but I know about her. I also know that Kingston is looking for her day and night. At first, I didn't understand why Kingston was so persistent, but I understood it once I've seen the both of you. You miss your daughter too much. You can't live without your daughter. I know I can't replace your daughter, but Mister Yates, I'm willing to do whatever I can. Whenever I'm free, I will come over to chat with you. You can tell me stories about your daughter. My name and Yvonne's name are pronounced the same way. I feel this is our fate."
Both Vincent and Helena were moved by her words.
