At night, she also did not have any nightmares because she was not used to sleeping in a different bed. Aino woke up the other morning with her grandmother right by her side and asked her, "Did you sleep next to me the entire time, Grandma?"
Gloria shook her head gently. "No. I was worried that Aino might be scared to wake up alone, so I came here after I woke up this morning. Aino, try guessing what gift I have prepared for you."
"Flowers! It's freshly picked flowers!" Aino beamed.
Gloria had made Aino a flower crown early in the morning, and instantly, the little child no longer missed her mother or her father. She knew that her grandmother was doing everything she could to care for Aino, even better than her parents could and therefore, she could not help but want to get even closer to Gloria.
Before her parents came to pick her up, Aino even told her grandmother that she would be staying with her every week to keep her company. Their bond had strengthened overnight. On her way back to the old residence with her parents, Aino kept on asking them, "Why won’t Grandma go to Grandpa and Grandma's place as well? Doesn't Grandpa know my Grandma? Aren't you... Aren't you all my family?" But her parents did not answer any of her questions, which confused
Aino even more.
Lucky for her, however, Aino saw her grandmother as soon as she got out of the car. She ran toward Gloria and said, "Grandma... Hehehe, are you here to give me a surprise? Why didn't you tell me you were coming just now? You are so naughty, Grandma, for giving me such a big surprise. I might just not come over next time! Hehehe."
