The misunderstanding had been cleared up, but Felicia was still worried about Monkey's whereabouts and said, "I have one more companion missing. I need to find him. I'm leaving now."
As Felicia turned to leave, she saw that Jennifer's eyes were red.
"Felicia..." Jennifer sniffed, feeling like she had so much to say. But when all the words piled up, she couldn't bring herself to say anything.
Felicia patted her on the head. "You should hurry home."
After saying this, Felicia took the lead and walked deeper into the forest.
Scarlet immediately followed, and the other three mercenaries closely trailed behind.
The group quickly disappeared into the night.
Jennifer wiped her tears. Without saying a word, she tried to follow, but Clark stopped her. "We have to go down the mountain, Jennifer. Look at you, you can't even stand properly. I need to take you to the hospital first!"
"But…"
Jennifer looked up in the direction Felicia had gone and cried out, "Felicia saved me. Her companion is missing because of me. I can't just accept that easily. I want to help too!"
Clark scratched his head, feeling a bit helpless. He finally came up with a compromise. "Okay, I'll go. You follow Captain Cortez and the others and leave, alright?"
As soon as he finished speaking, Michael's voice rang out. He was ordering his subordinates, "Take them down the mountain. Make sure to guard all the rescued people. The rest of you, follow me. Let's check if there are any clues in this bomb shelter!"
"Yes, sir!"
With Michael's command, his team immediately split into two groups.
One group escorted Jennifer and Clark down the mountain while the other followed Michael into the bomb shelter.
Jennifer kept glancing back, her thoughts clearly still with Felicia. Her eyes were full of admiration and gratitude. She couldn't stop thinking about how she wanted to help. She showered Felicia with so much praise and thanks that Clark started feeling jealous.
