Return of the Crowned Heiress novel Chapter 623

Meanwhile, Johanna was dragged up from the ground. The kick she received earlier felt like it had shifted her lungs. The pain was so intense it made her delirious. Coupled with the blood she had coughed up, her face was pale and weak.

She made no attempt to resist as two subordinates of the Russell family held her up.

It wasn't until someone moved Archie's body, which was lying on the ground, that she suddenly reacted.

"Don't touch him! Get away!"

Johanna seemed to be triggered by something. She suddenly broke free from her captors and threw herself toward Archie's body. No matter how hard they tried to pull her away, she refused to let go.

The subordinates exchanged helpless glances before looking at Stanley.

Stanley glanced at his communicator, and the message on the screen showed that the Carrell family had already sent a considerable number of people over. They were no more than half a mile away from the Russell residence!

Each of them was armed. The other party was clearly planning to take advantage of the chaos at the Russell residence to eliminate the threat. Unfortunately for them, they had miscalculated.

Stanley quickly responded with a message, "Let them in."

Little did Pete know that while he had dispatched so many of his men to the Russell residence, his own side was in danger.

He fell for the trap.

Stanley put the communicator back in his pocket and, seeing Johanna acting like a madwoman, said, "Lock the door. Deal with the people outside first. We can handle her later."

"Yes, sir!"

The other subordinates nodded and withdrew, locking the door with two locks to ensure Johanna had no chance of escaping.
