AUGUSTUS...

I looked up at Gavin as he is standing a little away from my desk, reporting me. Though he does not follow her anymore, he still is obliged to report if anything happens new around Charlotte.

And today, there is a new guest in the mansion. A girl, almost Charlotte's age mate. A human maybe, as far Sage informed because the girl does not smell like other creatures.

She came to the mansion this noon and in the evening when Charlotte came out of our bedroom, the guest is weak and sleeping.

Charlotte transferred her to the other room with Gavin's help and since then she is a little worried. Well, that's what Gavin reported to me.

I don't really care about anything else when Charlotte is with me only. Other than her leaving me, nothing could worry me much. Not even the sudden gust falling in sleep in our bedroom and then getting transferred.

As long as Charlotte is fine, I am fine.

However, still there is little doubt. Because, unlike the last days, she did not text me, inform me about her new friend, or she visited her and many more things that happened.

Is she planning to run away again? Because if she does, she is a fool then. There is no chance, I am letting her move away from me, once I claimed her as mine.

I stood up from my seat and both Gavin and Mateo bowed their head toward me, respecting their Alpha king.

I walked out of my office, wrapping up everything to see my mate. I am missing her a lot and also want to see if there is any cunning plan going on in her pretty little head.

I am in the home office today, which is in the southern wing. Our bedroom is in the Eastern wing.

As I walked out of the office, I started having a weird feeling. It's not only me, but Damon has the same feeling too.

Standing up from his place, Damon started pacing all over my head.

'You are also feeling it?' He asked and I nodded.

'Hmm... But, what is it?' I asked back.

He frowned. 'If I knew, would I ask you?' He scoffed.

I narrowed my eyes at him. 'Why are you so stubborn?'

He narrowed his eyes at me too. 'Wolves are the inner part of you, so...'

His words made me frown. I was about to reply something when a fresh scent of rain and lilac hit my nostrils, making me go crazy around.

I know this scent of course. The scent belongs to my little mate, but... This time her scent is feeling so strong! Well, way too strong!

'FUCK!' Damon cursed.

'What happened!?' I frowned as I felt him start pacing harder this time. More like, he is trying to push out himself.

Damon growled. 'Find her! This scent!' He suddenly turned too excited. 'Just move arshole! Find her!'

My heart clenched around with a strange emotion. I don't know what happened or what came over me. I started almost running this time.

What if something happened too... No! I don't want to think anything more and even if I wanted, I can't because of the way Damon is trying to push himself out of me.

If I am paranoid, then he is in a more crazy situation than me!

Just as I was moving quickly, regretting living in this huge Palace suddenly, a figure appeared from the other side and both of us stiffened on the place.

We stood at a distance from each other. But, as soon as our gazes met, a voice roared inside of us, "MATE!"

And before I know it, Damon came out on the surface, pushing me back inside as he jumped forward and got a hold of Charlotte, immediately pushing her back on the wall by the throat, and his fangs came out.

'NO! STOP!' I shouted, knowing exactly what he is planning to do.

The threat from before started ringing in my ears.

'If you dare to mark me, I will die!'
