"No." Noelle looked at Isaac indifferently. "This isn't part of my job."
"You're from the IT department. How could this not be your job?"
"My job is to handle the mess, like the firewall issue."
Her tone was cold. She couldn't be bothered to pretend anymore. She just wanted to finish the firewall issue quickly and leave.
He probably had never seen such a bold newcomer. It was only her second day at work, and she already dared to talk back to her superior. He trembled with anger.
"I'll tell Mr. Fuentes right now and have you fired!"
"You can try." Noelle completely ignored him and continued typing away at her code. Her slender fingers danced across the keyboard, and a string of code appeared on the screen.
Soon, Isaac stormed out of his office, glaring at her. "Don't get cocky. You'll be out of here if you can't fix the firewall issue. I'd like to see what you're really capable of."
"Don't worry. I'm more capable than you." She showed him no respect at all.
Xenia arrived at the company. She was dressed head-to-toe in luxury brand clothes, greeting everyone with the air of an heiress.
A bad premonition crept into her mind when she saw the code on Noelle's computer. If Noelle solved the firewall problem, wouldn't Frank favor her even more?
A calculating look flashed in Xenia's eyes. She wouldn't let Noelle succeed. Her gaze shifted to Isaac beside her, and she quickly came up with an idea.
After working all day without a break for lunch, Noelle finally finished writing the code. She stretched her neck, hoping the test would pass tomorrow so she could leave for good. She really didn't want to be involved with the Liddell family any longer.
