The sounds of car horns woke Clint as he reluctantly pried his dark eyes open. He looked around and realized he was in the middle of a traffic jam.
Clint did not pay much attention to it since traffic jams were common in the big cities of the South Territory due to the large population and numerous cars.
Just as he was about to go back to sleep, something caught his attention from the corner of his eye.
Something seemed to be moving.
Clint opened his eyes again and looked in that direction.
A pair of eyes were watching him from inside a dark alley. Almost as if driven by an unseen force, Clint got out of the car. He crossed the traffic and made his way toward the alley.
In the alley, he found a woman covered in wounds lying there with disheveled hair. She was barely conscious. Clint crouched down to check on her.
"You... Why is it you?" Clint said, shocked to see that the person was none other than Rainie, someone he had encountered before. He had not expected to see her here and quickly called Gabriel to help get her into the car.
Using his true energy, Clint performed a thorough examination and discovered that in addition to her visible wounds, many of her bones were also injured.
"Quick! To the hospital," Clint said frantically.
"But this—" Gabriel hesitated. Given the severe traffic jam, it seemed impossible that they would be able to reach the hospital quickly.
At that moment, Clint made a phone call. "Hello, yes, it's me. Uh-huh, bring my dad's helicopter! I'm at..." After giving the address, Clint hung up.
"Sir, forgive me for asking, but who exactly is this?" Gabriel asked when he saw Clint sweating profusely. Having served the Melton family for so long, it was the first time he had seen Clint so anxious, even going so far as to request a helicopter, which was highly unusual.
