How cruel of Jasper. Wyatt merely spoke out of line a few times, and he ended up getting anesthesia on his tongue from Dr. Morgan.
He couldn’t even taste his alcohol now.
“Tris! Juls!” a middle-aged woman called out anxiously at the restaurant entrance. Helen patted her thighs, looking worried as she added, “Dear me, where have they gone…”
“Grand-aunt, we’re here!” Two children jumped out from behind the screen and hurried over to Helen with their tiny legs.
Tristan was faster and steadier, so he got to Helen first and hugged her leg. He buried his face against her leg to comfort her, hoping that she wouldn’t worry and get angry.
As Julian rushed over, his tiny frame bumped into Jasper’s leg as he was passing by. Jasper was unaffected, but Julian was knocked forward before falling to the ground.
It seemed painful because he had slid forward for a bit before coming to a halt.
Jasper frowned. He was about to go over and pick the boy up.
Yet, the child was tougher than he thought. Instead of crying, the boy got up and flashed him a bright smile. He said in a childish voice, “I’m sorry for bumping into you, Mister.”
The boy had a pretty face. Defined brows, long lashes, and big eyes. He even had fair skin.
The boy’s appearance gave Jasper a sense of familiarity and closeness.
However, this was the first time they had met.
The boy turned and hurried back to the middle-aged woman.
The woman held onto the two boys and left.
There was an indescribable sense of melancholy in Jasper’s gaze as he watched them leave.
Wyatt waved his hand in front of Jasper’s face. “What’s wrong? Are you planning on punishing that kid? I’ll get him for you.”
Wyatt was about to leave to capture the boy who bumped into Jasper.
