He had given her a chance?
Confusion filled Edith’s teary eyes.
Then, she remembered what Jasper said to her this afternoon in the office.
Like a bolt out of the blue, she shuddered as she came to a realization.
The design was Hughes Corporation’s secret. It should’ve been kept by the person in charge of it, so Jasper had asked her how it had ended up on the conference table.
After all, she was in charge of taking care of it.
Jasper had prompted her verbally, giving her a chance to come clean.
However, Edith didn’t seize that chance. Hence, Jasper’s call to Tyson, asking for the security footage of the 57th floor, was made so that Edith would overhear him. She would then try to delete the footage in the control room and be caught in the act!
Edith was regretting her actions now.
She was too flustered to analyze the situation and didn’t have the mental capacity to discern right from wrong.
She was the one who had discussed with Deborah in the corridor about framing Willow, hoping that the rumors would get Willow kicked out of Hughes Corporation.
When she heard Willow coming over, she rushed up to the highest floor and went one floor down to the 57th floor.
There were no surveillance cameras in the corridor, but the 57th floor did. It must have captured footage of her running anxiously into an executive’s office.
Jasper would’ve suspected her if he saw that. With his intelligence, he could easily guess that she was the culprit if he saw her escaping into someone else’s office looking so guilty.
