When Willow arrived at the stairway, she saw Deborah standing diagonally in the walkway.
Willow was about to step forward when she suddenly heard Deborah speaking. "Even if Willow doesn't get fired, there's no chance left for her to make amends. Those rumors have already spread around the office. Even if Mr. Price puts an end to the rumors, every employee in the company has already developed prejudice against Willow. She'll soon become isolated. People will roll their eyes at her. Soon, she'll realize she can no longer stay and voluntarily quit."
Willow halted. She did not step forward. Instead, she continued watching Deborah by the door.
Who was Deborah speaking to? Unfortunately, the other person's face was blocked by the wall. Willow could not see clearly.
Although that person did not speak, he or she seemingly affirmed what Deborah said.
Deborah laughed. "Willow is my enemy too. It's also my objective to get rid of her. I have to thank you for providing me with the information. That's the only reason why the rumors could be spread."
What?
Was Deborah the one who spread the rumors?
She had even blamed the whole thing on Willow!
Upon hearing this, Willow furiously stepped forward and hastily walked toward Deborah. "Well done, Deborah. It's actually you!"
Deborah was taken aback when she heard Willow's voice. "Willow!"
The person who was talking with Deborah frantically ran down the stairs after hearing the commotion.
Willow could hear the sound of heels tapping on the ground. She quickly ran after the person.
That person was the mastermind behind this entire ordeal. She could not let that person run away.
Unfortunately, Willow was too slow. By the time she reached the corner, the person had already pushed open a safety door and ran down another flight of stairs.
Willow wanted to keep running after that person, but Deborah grabbed her arm. "Willow, what are you doing?"
"Let go of me. You two are colluding against me. I have to tell Mr. Hughes to clear my name!" Willow pushed Deborah's hand away and continued her pursuit.
She pushed the safety door open and stepped onto the corridor. However, the floor was empty. There was not a single person in sight.
That person had already hidden elsewhere.
