"Hold it right there!" Edith exclaimed.

Willow stopped walking, but she did not turn around.

"What are you doing in the CEO's office?" Edith asked.

"I'm here for Mr. Hughes. Since he's not in the office, I'll come back later." Willow proceeded to leave.

Edith stopped her. "Why are you, a cleaning lady, here to see Mr. Hughes? Willow, I've never seen a woman as thick-faced as you. You'd do anything to seduce Mr. Hughes."

Willow took a deep breath before turning around and looking Edith in the eyes. "I'm here to check the footage of you proposing to Mr. Hughes. That'll prove that I wasn't eavesdropping on you two. I wasn't the one who spread the rumors. Ms. Price, haven't you heard that those who tend to find faults in others are usually the ones who have those same qualities?"

Willow was giving Edith a taste of her own medicine.

Furious, Edith seemed like she would soon lose her temper. However, she held back. "The door wasn't closed. Who'd know if you were hiding behind the door?"

Willow's eyes widened in disbelief.

Was Willow the kind of person who would eavesdrop on other people?

There was no way she could reason her way out of this.

"Let's wait for Mr. Hughes to return. Once we get the surveillance footage, all questions will be answered," Willow said.

"Time is money for Mr. Hughes. He wouldn't waste his precious time to retrieve the surveillance footage for you. Just give up, Willow. If I were you, I'd admit that I was the one who spread the rumor. I'd then apologize to Mr. Hughes. Perhaps, he might forgive you after realizing you're willing to change your ways." After Edith offered her suggestion, she glanced coldly at Willow and walked out of the office.

"I didn't do it. I'll never admit to it! I'll find the evidence to prove I'm innocent!" Willow yelled from behind, heaving in anger.
