The day before yesterday, Carmen and Sigmund's account was reported. Over the past few years, their livestreaming business had earned them significant wealth. They even established a media company and trained several popular streamers. But in just a few days, everything unraveled.
Issues with their operations and product promotions—things they had managed to cover up in the past—were now exposed. Previously, no one pursued these matters seriously. However, the platform was no longer turning a blind eye.
Their accounts were banned one after another, and some individuals even reported them to the authorities. The media caught wind of their illegal practices, and the platform imposed heavy penalties. Now, they faced astronomical financial compensation demands.
In less than two days, their fortunes had reversed. They were on the brink of selling their home and liquidating assets to cover their debts.
At first, they didn't connect this disaster to Skylar and Joe. But then, a former contact—someone they had approached to use the media against the kindergarten—provided them with inside information.
It became clear they had offended someone far out of their league. Even if they offered more money, no one dared to help them cause trouble for Skylar and Joe. After all, they were not people they could afford to provoke. Then, by sheer coincidence, Carmen and Sigmund saw a news story.
Skylar had appeared on a TV show. A little digging revealed her husband's identity. Her two older brothers and younger brother were prominent figures in their fields, and Skylar herself was a master-level restorer.
Now, Carmen wanted nothing more than to slap herself. She regretted it so much. If only she could go back to that day, she would have apologized a hundred times over.
"Mrs. Martin, we're here to apologize. What happened that day was entirely our fault," Sigmund began, bowing deeply. "We've thought it through over the past two days and realized we failed as parents. We didn't teach our daughter properly, which led to her mistakes. We'll make sure Nadia apologizes to Vivian too. We'll make sure to educate Nadia properly after this."
Sigmund nudged Carmen, signaling her to speak. Blushing, Carmen turned to Skylar. "My attitude that day was unacceptable," she admitted. "As parents, we've spoiled and indulged our daughter too much. Nadia's overbearing personality and inability to get along with her classmates are entirely our fault. We take full responsibility."
