Joe said, "I just got off the plane. I'll head out right away."
Joe's seemingly casual tone indicated that he was eager to see her as soon as possible.
Skylar smiled and replied, "Okay, I'll wait for you."
Half an hour later, Joe appeared, unmistakable with his tall figure and commanding presence. He waved at Skylar.
Skylar waved back.
Some people say that newlyweds often have this kind of feeling. Honestly, it really felt that way.
After walking a short distance, Paul appeared behind him, pushing a trolley with luggage. Joe, with his long legs, quickly covered the distance and was in front of Skylar in just a few steps.
Then, without hesitation, he pulled her into an embrace.
"You've lost weight," he said, resting his chin on her head.
Skylar stifled a laugh. "You've only been gone for less than five days. How could I have lost weight?"
She didn't weigh herself daily but could tell whether she had gained or lost weight by how her clothes fit.
"I've lost weight. Can you feel it?" Joe's voice had a slightly playful tone, as if he was a little disappointed.
He knew Skylar was surrounded by family, friends, and kind colleagues. So even if he wasn't around, they would take good care of her. Unlike him, who found little pleasure in food while on business trips.
Skylar smiled and comforted him. "Let's go home and see how many pounds you've lost. We'll get them all back, but our Mr. Martin looks even more handsome now."
